ABOUT
Te Kōkota, named for the triangular-shaped star constellation called Te Kōkota (Haydes). The Mackenzie Country is unique that with limited light pollution the night sky can be seen extremely well, and here in the country with only a few houses around it is a special treat to see.
Te Kōkota is surrounded by silence as only being in the country has. The only sound is the wind whistling through the pine trees and the birds chirping. Being in the backcountry doesn't mean being without the comforts of home, with a fully equipped chef's kitchen and log burner you can snuggle up on a winter's night or relax on the deck in the summer months.
Te Kōkota, Twizel, New Zealand
Te Kōkota is a brand new two-bedroom home, full of charm, with ply finished walls, polished concrete floors, and huge windows and sliding doors to absorb the view with the indoor-outdoor flow. It is situated at the foot of the Ben Ohau Range on 2 hectares, 10 min away from Twizel. Down the road less than 1km away is our favourite canal for salmon fishing, with Lake Ohau close by for boating, fishing or swimming. Mackenzie Country is world famous and here you have direct access to all the mountain biking/mountaineering/water sports and hunting right at your fingertips.
We fell in love with Twizel and know you will too.
